    MPC305 leaking cyan toner

I have a MPC305 that only has done 26k colour but has used around 8-10 cyan toners! & only 3 on the others, most of it appears to have leaked out of the machine, it seems the PCU is calling for way too much.

The customer doesn't do much block solids, only colour text!

I have just replaced the cyan PCU. Any other reason for this?

I've had one of these that used to spill it's yellow toner. I can't be certain if it was the machine or cartridge, but stripped the top side off and cleaned it up. It's seems to be ok now. Does it look like there is any toner spillage in the machine?
    cheers

Yes, there is cyan toner all inside the machine, all over the other PCU's & waste bottle, not sure how it managed to leak everywhere!

This is not the strongest colour MFP on the market. Our first install leaked magenta along the rear side of the machine. Checked the machine for levelness - OK. Magenta PCU replaced at 2,535 on the colour meter. Black PCU rated for 60K was replaced because of bands at B/W 30K, Colour 8K. Image Transfer Belt Unit rated for 120K made it to 39K (combined colour and b/w) and was leaving splotches on the copies - had to be replaced. GOOD LUCK!

I have a feeling that the MPC305 is the new SPC430 as far as headaches go! What I can't understand is how Ricoh expects a machine like that to operate with such a small paper exit section! You can barely get your hand in to remove the prints! God forbid that there is paper curl then it is really a joke!

Hope it gets replaced OR better - discontinued soon! Unlike tbe MPC300 that was a short-lived good machine.

Below is from the Ricoh site...i have had this a couple of times.....it is a complete bastard to do.i have always fixed this back at the workshop-not at the customers as you have to rip out everything from the back of the m/c.follow the manual (don't forget to take out the toner bottles ) good luck.
p.s don't take out the PSU as it is horrible to get back in ( connector at back has a REALLY short lead) a bit of jiggling and you can get the other parts out

"Yellow toner transport section faulty (D1173303). Removed PSU, Controller box, RFID board, toner motors and toner supply unit to access. On replacing hopper set SP3-701 and SP3-501 to 1 according to colour replaced to reset new unit flag and to supply toner."

I would look in the back to the hopper like tankman said. Its not a fun job by any means, we had one recently where the auger in the cyan hopper had broken which caused toner to be thrown everywhere, but also it gave toner low messages often.
Also a few times customers have gone to remove the toner bottle and the little exit hatch on the bottom didn't close on exit causing the customer to dance around while coating everything in a thick layer of toner (including the inside of the machine)

These machines have been nothing but terrible so far, missing image all the time, I called Ricoh Europe who said that are very aware of all these issues and have palmed it off to Japan to never hear from again, yay!
