I recently replaced the Fusing Unit (Type C) but the alert light continues to stay on along with the message to replace the fusing unit. What do I need to do next? Thank you.

1. Go into service mode and reset the PM counter for the fuser manually.
or
2. Take the top cover off the fuser and re-connect the small spring next to the gears.- Knowledge not shared, is eventually knowledge that becomes lost... like tears in the rain.

Could you please send me the instructions to enter service mode? I have the same problem. I correctly installed a new fuser unit today and the alert still remains. Thanks.Comment

Forgive the delay to my reply. Here are the instructions I kindly received from "Cipher". It worked for me! Truly, Repairgirl (^_^)/
Fuser PM reset
1. Hold the 'up' and 'down' arrows together for 5 seconds or longer.
2. Release the arrow keys and press the 'enter' key.
3. Select '2. Engine'
4. Go to SP7804-016 (PM Counter Reset>Fuser) and execute.
5. Turn the machine off and on.
All done.Comment

I have a CL7300 (LP 335c) in my territory. Since I just have the one I've been using the standard B1809511 drums in it, but with the faceplate of the old drums on it. Is there a way to re-set the PM counter for specific units (PCU, dev, fuser) for this model as well? The little white encoder for the drum unit doesn't always re-set so the PM counters look unusually high.
Thanks in advanceComment

It's the same on the CL7300 just scroll through SP7804-XXX and clear the PM counter manually for each part (everything is clearly named).
Do not manually clear the PM count on used dev units though.Last edited by Cipher; 06-27-2008, 05:31 PM.- Knowledge not shared, is eventually knowledge that becomes lost... like tears in the rain.
