    mpc 2051 jam paper

    Hello to all.

I have a strange problem with a Ricoh MPC 2051.

The morning cold machine jams the first two / three prints or photocopies.

Unlock the first sheet, unlock the second, then the third release the multifunction starts to work properly until evening.

    All sensors are working properly.

    Any idea?

Does the fuser make a grinding sound? If so, install the oil supply option. The fusers don't come with it like the other models, thus the rollers do not run freely causing jams, creases and noise. This is more noticeable in the early morning when the machine is starting from cold.

The option is expensive, but once fitted you can mod an oil supply roller from the MPC range to fit quite easily (swap the original bushings, left with right, and throw away the e-rings). The cleaning roller is slightly smaller than the MPC range, but may take an AF range fuser roller. (Have yet had a chance to try).

Thanks for the idea to mount the roller oil.
However, the car does not make strange noises.
The multifunction has 150,000 copies and 23,000 copies black color.
The defect has reappeared about six months ago to about 100,000 black and 18,000 colors.
I was going to replace the fuser belt.
I will try to insert the roller oil and see if it solves the problem.

J019 is a duplex entrance sensor. If you do not have a service manual, you need to get one. If you do not have a login account for a Ricoh support site, you can purchase one from JustManuals.

I have had this problem on MP2550, mpc 2051, ect, seem to be the MP20,25 series ,replaced the first paper feed clutch, they seem to lag when they are cold and old, also they are small and i think the shafts get slightly worn , so when they are cold they kinda dont grab at first,or if running the second paper drawer the will bind or slip when they are not supposed to , then they warm up and the shaft may expand just a micro bit enough to grab good and there ya go,
switch the paper feed clutches and see if the problem goes away, this is how i found out about it being the #1 paper feed clutch, i have not had a return call on either machine.
