It also depends on your company's KPI.
I HATE KPI's as it's an added pressure for the techs.....i.e.number of calls over QUALITY of calls.
The average that I've usually worked on is 5 calls per day but like Blackcat I've had plenty of machines that have tied me up for a couple of days so it kills your call rates.
Made a bit worse seeing as how the owner of my dealership is an ex accountant so he loves looking at numbers ....did i mention that i HATE KPI

My advise after 30+ years in the biz, Through the FUCKING national/regional numbers out!!!!!!!!!!! No one has the exact same base of gear or geographic area to cover. The national/regional numbers are a general guide at best. My last employer tried to hold us to national numbers with the industry standard of costs, the numbers were terrible and the techs were crucified for it. Despite the fact that the data was so in accurate......

You have to evaluate your companies territory and tech's and track that info to get your perspective on your companies cost and profitability....

Well, my dealership wants us to aim for 4-5 calls per day. with a 3 call minimum. In rain, sleet, and snow.

Calls have all but dried up here lately.
We're a multi brand dealership but i only work on Ricoh and when we fix them (for the most part) they stay fixed.
So most days we're down to one or two calls at the moment :/

That would be possible if all your accounts were in the same building or at least within 1 mile of each other, you use Field Replacement Units instead of maintenance rebuilds, and you have people in the main office who do the maintenance rebuilds.

Anything from 1-8 jobs a day.

But it's highly dependant.

I'm not being judged by the amount of calls I'm clearing, it's more on the quality and thoroughness of my work.

Depends on average travel time between customers and what kind of stuff you're going to maintain/fix. I think most oldies are becoming more time consuming if you start dealing with non-usual issues.

Fixing 3-5 machines/day within city regions sounds realistic to me.

The biggest variable in my humble opinion, is are your techs parts swappers that just give up after 1 hour if it's not fixed? If yes, 6 or 8 calls can be normal.

13 calls a day hey, those machines must be run down junk - but I bet your precious stats look awesome.

somewhere between 4 to 6 actual calls a day on average is reasonable. You need to apply a weighting system, ie: an MPC 5501 is worth 1 actual call, an MPC7501 is worth 2 actual calls, a small printer maybe .8 of a call etc.

Also you would be much better off to concentrate on meter between calls than just jobs per day.

FYI, I have been a copier tech since 1986, and have worked for numerous companys. The ones that pushed jobs per day, insisted on resetting counters and generally stretching everything to and past its limits - well they simply arent in business anymore. You might make some good short term profit and look good for a few years....but it will all come back to bite you when one by one all your customers dissapear.

Am I understanding this correct rep did a average of 13 calls a day
If so 8 hour day is approximately 37 minutes per call
Lets assume they are really close together so say 10 minutes travel between calls would be 130 minutes
480-130 = 350
350 minutes with 13 calls would be 27 minutes per call
How many calls can be fixed in less than 30 minutes

Calls per day, Response Time, Time to Repair, Days Between Calls, Copies Between Calls, Parts Used
They are all just numbers most can be made one way or the other
I have seen reps come and go who could make these numbers and looked really good on paper but were piss poor at fixing machines or fixing the customer

My concern if I owned a business would be are my customer getting what they are paying me for
If not how long will they remain MY customer
Best advice I ever received from a manager was
When you leave a customers office ask yourself if you were the customer would you be satisfied with what you did

YOUR goals....YOUR targets..!!!
Any decent tech will take the time on a call to FIX not only the issue that they were called for but any FUTURE issues that they perceive might arise from parts counter being too far over,wear and tear etc etc.
This alone will blow out your precious call rates per day.
Increase the call rate...get shoddy work...as simple as that.
