[CQ] mpc 5501 faded prints on one side

mpc 5501 with faded prints. i printed off a test pattern and all 4 colours are faded on one side at the rear side of the machine.
ive changed the transfer belt and cleaning unit and the paper transfer roller. all devs and pcus are in good nick.

    i have uploaded a sample.

i stopped the machine when the image was on the transfer belt and can see the whole of the test pattern was a strong colour. it seems like half of the image doesnt full transfer on to the paper.

You might have a bad HV (High Voltage) board for the transfer roller. If the toner is being "snapped" from the dev units to the ITB, but is not being "snapped" to the paper, then there is something wrong with the HV board that is supplying the transfer roller. Swap with a known good board to test it....in other words, not enough HV to properly "charge" the transfer roller and the transfer of the toner from the ITB to the paper is barely working.

Looks more like the transfer roller is not sitting flush against the itb. Double check mechanics of it, press against the right side where the light area is as it makes a copy. If it was a board problem you'd have consistent image issue.

Most likely this, these models use those rubbish hinged TX roller holders that break really easily. I don't think they modified them before production so they may still have the plastic locators, they have since been modified (on the MPC4500 etc at least) to metal pins and plates.
