    ricoh c6501 sp

I have a 6501 Ricoh that I bought used and I got a error for bad hard drives. I have replaced the 160GB drives with 500GB and since I am a computer guy I am assuming there has to be a process to format these drives. but can not find a manual for the 6501 but in the 6502 it does not give the steps just reads to call a service provider. So any help would be great.

You have to low level format on a PC first, then go into SP5-832-001. Manuals are only available to engineers, or from third parties for a price.

I have to say....the HDD's are only just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the problems you are going to see with this model!

I assume that you are referring to the frequent toner scattering.

I had two of them in my territory, same customer. One worked fine other than PM calls. The other worked fine for a while, then started blowing toner. Followed instructions in bulletins 013, 017, 035 and 040. Machine worked fine until they replaced both of them and two B/W machines (an Savin 8075 and a MP 9002) with 4 MP C 6502s.
