[Dead] Error 0500-H on FAX 3320L

We have a customer with a Lanier LF312 (Ricoh FAX 3320L) that is giving a Call Service 0500H at power up. My understanding is that 0XXXH translate to SC XXX service codes. This would mean a main motor lock. Gears on the PCU are not worn and the auger shafts in the development unit turn properly. We have already replaced the motor twice. First time with a motor out of a Gestetner DSm415, Aficio 1515, (not my idea, I prefer not to put in used parts) which the parts catalogs list as the same part number. It failed in a couple of days. We then ordered a new motor. It lasted a couple of months and then failed. Anything else that we can check that might be making the main motor fail. Watching with the back cover off, the motor does not appear to be even trying to turn.

    That is weird.
This might be stupid, but sometimes when a drive motor expires it can take out the board that produces the drive signal. If time permits, you might want to check that.
