    mpc4501/5501 counter read screen

    I have two Ricoh
4501 & 5501 both counter screens read Blak Develop*** color Develop *** (*** is the number)
How do i change this to the norm read look?
    Blk total copies
    Blk total prints
    Blk Total
    Color total ect?
I can print this out in admin mode i know but why is the counter screen this way and can i change it?
I thought it was in sec five, but i dint see it anywhere,
Also the total on both does not add up to the numbers when i do the admin print out, some change the eprom? but wouldnt the total go with it? just curious.

thanks im on my way to the machines and i will try that
any ideas on the miss matched total vs actual count?
the total reads 96k yet the individual counts are like 5 copies blk 15 prints color 2 copies color ect...
do not add up to 96k

not sure how the development counter works...

is it possible that when a color job is sent it would increment both if black was used? Or if its a processed black would it only increment the color since the cmy was used to make the black?

there's also a switch that tells the count to increment twice for large(11x17/a3) prints that may skew the numbers...

when its set to devs it does 3 counts for col and 1 black on colour prints and copies.

when set to pages its does 1 for col and 0 black for col prints and copies iirc

ALSO worth noting you can only change SP 5045 ONCE!!!!

Dont forget you can only change it once. counting developments is on a colour copy it will add 3 clicks to a colour and one for b/w so if you charging say 15 pence per colour and .5 pence per black it will be a 45.5 pence in total. If you change it to prints instead of developments it will be 15,5 pence. Some companies rip off customers that way. In the contract it will say cost per copy but the copier is set to developments. After you change to copy your colour counter will be 3 times less.

Most older Ricoh came set for developments. I thinks that is what they like in Japan. The xx02 and xx03 models seem to come set for copies.
