Re: jam on C and D in MP 5002
In my experience its the solenoid that operates the gate that directs the paper to either go into the inner tray or out to the finisher. You case sounds like its not directing the paper to the finisher and coming out the transport, thus giving you the jam, I have had this same situation and changed the transport and it solved the issue. listen for a clicking sound if you dont hear it, the solenoid is not activating.the transport should click when its opening and closing the direction gate. -

Re: jam on C and D in MP 5002
When installing a bridge unit onto an Alex, there are two little plastic spacers that clip into the exit unit before the bridge is installed. Did your company put the machine together or was it PDI'd by Ricoh? This fault happened to another member of our team and that was the cause. It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.Comment

Re: jam on C and D in MP 5002
What is the jam location number from the SMC logging data printout. The letters shown on the display are for the end user to know where to look for jammed paper. The jam number is what tells where the jam actually took place. Newer models now display the number as well as the letters such as J003 or J012.Comment

Or it could just be the paper. What do the jammed sheets look like? If they are wrinkled or overly curled, you might just need to remove all the old paper and replace it with paper taken from a freshly opened ream.
Could it be that the paper is thicker than the specifications listed in the user manual? That's something that caught me by surprise a couple of times on older machines.
Just a couple of guesses. Sorry if you've tried that already.Comment

Do an input check of that sensor to see if it turns on and off, then go from there .Live for something or die for nothing.Comment
