    MP2000 scan to smb

    Hello all,
I have an MP2000 with the print/scan controller. When I log into the wim to set up scan to smb all I see in the address book tab is a spot to input the user codes. I do not see any spaces for smb set up anywhere. No path, no folder authentication, nothing. I know it's something stupid, just can't figure it out. Firmware update on the controller? Lost...

You have to add a user first, then you can edit (change) the profile settings.

You have the "print/scan controller" installed. What about the Print/ scan SD card installed?
Also, I had an issue years ago on a Aficio 2020 where the card was installed in the wrong slot (upper, rather than the lower I think), and I seem to remember having the same issue you're describing, and machine even printed fine.

Is it something like fax adress list, you can add users and set them up as fax adress book?
I had one MP 2000 that I could only set fax adress via WIM,spent hours trying to figure it out...and no NVRAM from machine with scan option won't enable it.
        I had a post about it http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/ri...ress-book.html
That MP 2000 we didn't fix,it was sold as copier only, but I beleve that "aditional admin acc made with permisions to addres book" is the issue.
Good luck and I hope this helps.
Gears, springs, clutches, sliders, connectors and electronics...who on earth can tell what's wrong with it?

Big thanks to sandmanmac. SD card in middle slot instead of lower. Put it in the lower slot (of three) and it gives me all the address book tabs as it should. Thanks again!!

The lower slot is the service slot and normally is used for firmware updates. Is the SD card an application card or is it an address book card? Also, what card is in slot 1.

This issue used to pop up allot back in the day (getting old). Ricoh decided to swap things around on this model and moved the service slot to the top and the printer app slot right at the bottom. Run-up would sometimes mix things up and your scan to email/folder address book fields went missing. In most cases just moving the card around fixed the issue; in others an additional step of 'initialise all address book' under the UCS tab (service mode 5) needed to be performed after the sd card swap. Reboot and
