    Well, crap

It's probably about time I did this.
The mothership was brought into a larger alliance a couple of years ago . As I'm out here on the perimeter, that didn't affect me right away but it is probably time for me to bow out as we lost access to the newest Ricoh stuff then.
If your curious, the mothership is currently on course for planet X.

Gene, you always have such an interesting way of putting things, that I'm unsure if we should be happy or sad for you?
Does this mean you're heading for retirement?
Your expertise would be sorely missed, so I hope your not truly leaving for planet "X".
I wish you well, whatever the case

        ... and third. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

We're in the process of changing the main manufacturer of the equipment that we work on. Have been for a couple of years now.
I have been seeing more new Ricoh models here that I have no experience with, and I just saw that I've had less to comment on in the Ricoh topic recently.
But I'm not going away unless one of you tells me to get lost. After all, I've been doing this long enough, I should have a pretty good idea of what's supposed to happen in the guts of any xerographic process based machine. Some inkjets too (stupid AF615's fragile $1K print engine).
One thing, the letter "X" was part of a common insult back in the analog days for a certain manufacturer. As in Brand X. And now I'm going to be actively working on their equipment. I guess that's karma for you.

HA! I had a feeling there was a hidden riddle or something in there!
Nothing can touch 30 years of experience.
I'm a solo act, so everything's new to me all the time.
The toughest part for me is the changes in features, functions, connectivity, etc.
But I'm dealing with used stuff, so I'm generally dealing in stuff that's 3-4 years behind the times which suits me just fine
As for how they work? It's the same basic process, as you said.
And when the going gets tough for me -as it does fairly routinely..CTN is a Godsend, thanks to people like you - and many others (you know who you are )

                  "Well,crap"
                  ...now I'm getting all misty-eyed.

Glad you're staying with us Gene!

That what I thought. I still refer to them as Brand "X".
