Check the setting for "Bypass Tray Setting Priority" in User Tools - Printer Features - System is set to Driver/Command.

it is set to driver/command, i changed it to manual, still no progress
I did however notice if i set the scaling to #10 envelope it comes out very small and upsidedown(fixable) but to small to read, but in the right direction????

ok with word 2003 (i guess its the problem), but i set up a mp2550 print envelopes just fine, Still cannot get the mpc3500 or the mpc5501 to print envelopes correctly
I guess I will try a different driver

ok heres what happened,I changed the pcl5c to a pcl6 which i never really use, the envelope's will print the right direction however, the bypass tray is now not pulling the env's on auto select, i had to go to print preferences and select the bypass tray as the input tray before it would pull from the bypass tray,? the pcl5c had no problem on auto using the bypass tray, using the print command on auto tray select,
i re set the copier as i did to the pcl5c tray settings, stil had to go to preferences and tell the machine to pull from the bypass tray.
          so there ya go.

In Word 2003, in fact in most word processing software, you only have to configure envelope paper size to print from bypass tray. If done properly, it only has to be done once.
