mpc7500 k toner not loading or reccognized

mpc7500 was in the middle of a 1600 page print job, then stops and says replace toner, the toner was over half full, so i removed the hopper vacked out the toner supply hose, checked for clumps ect, put k toner back in and it didnt recognise i put the bottle back in? then i put new one in, it tried to load and made a kinda grinding noise, then load toner again, i put the original back in, it went through the cycle, still "load toner" i removed the hopper again, check the gears, see if something was not turning, seem to be free of binding, put the toner back in and it didnt recognize the toner bottle again, i then primed by hand the dv unit just a little, still , no toner, there is toner in the hose and if i move the interface plate toner comes out but not a lot,so
i see there is a clutch and another clutch face to face so to speak, one turns the hopper inside where the sensor is, is this the possible problem?
i went to the wharehouse and snached another toner hopper assembly R/R it and it worked, toned up and the client is back in business, but i need to know what causes this on this model, on the mpc3500/4500 ect the toner pump is notorious for giving out, i carry these in stock, is there a usual culprit on these mpc7500?

Normally a toner problem on these models is related to a incorrectly carried out developer filling and TD sensor initialization procedure.

Check SP3817-001 to 004, they should all read 0.

If not you could be looking at hovering out and replacing the developer for one or more dev units.

These models are a completely different animal to the MPC3500/4500 range, you could call them a little temperamental if you don't do things by the book.

Yes it is quite common for the sub hopper clutches to fail, either sticking on and over toning or not working at all causing add toner. I would definitely replace them.
