[Misc] Infotec Aficio MP C5000 can't add to scanrouter v2

    Hello all,

We have installed for a few hears on our file server the Ricoh ScanRouter V2 Administration Utility ver. 2.0.6.0 and it works fine with 5 infotec I/O devices and about 60 pdf file to folder destinations.

The problem here is with our new Infotec Aficio MP C5000, we simply cant add it to I/O device list, it says "The selected I/O device is not switched on, or is not available on this network."

We think it can be some parameter missing to switch on but we don't know what and how?

Or in the worst scenario, is this machine compatible with the ScanRouter v2?

    Thanks,

The MPC5000 is probably too new of a model to be supported by the ScanRouter v2.

There was some update patches for ScanRouter v2 Pro (not Lite) but they are no longer available as the ScanRouter product range has been discontinued.

We will discontinue the downloading of patches for ScanRouter and/or ScanRouter EX on December 31, 2013.
All ScanRouter and/or ScanRouter EX utilities will be removed from our download page.
Note: The MPC5000 can directly scan to folder (SMB) without the need of server side software.

Wich similar Ricoh software do you recomend to work with the MP C5000, and older machines like IS 2045 and even IS 2018D?

PS.: I can't find many information about all the Ricoh's software.

As Cipher mentioned, the MPC5000 can do scan to folder without Scanrouter.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

        Hit it.

Ok, thanks, I Know that, it's with SMB scan to folder.

But I have 3 MP C5000 and about 60 user, its a painful work to manage all that independently.

As Cipher said Scanrouter is no longer supported, could you not use scan to email instead with LDAP lookup ? This would be far easier to manage

Re: Infotec Aficio MP C5000 can't add to scanrouter v2

You would only have to manage SMB scan destinations on one MPC5000.
As you can export and import the address book between models via the machines own web interface or Device Manager NX

It's still not as seamless as ScanRouter's automatic destination list updating, but it's certainly workable as a free solution.

Moza suggestion of scanning to email via LDAP search/lookup is a pretty good solution as well.

Alternatively you could look at GlobalScan.
It can be slow on older models though (if they are supported), it's not free and would need to be initially set-up and configured.
But control is centralized like ScanRouter if you go with the server based version and it's has lots more bells and whistles.

By the massage I receive in ScanRouter V2 Lite when I try to add the MP C5000 machine to the I/O devices list, I keep thinking that some switch related to "Delivery Service" is off on the machine.

Doesn any thechnician knows this one?

                Thanks again.

Yes "Delivery Service" has to be switched on and point to the PC/Server hosting Scanrouter to work

Hello Mr. Moza thanks in advance for your reply. Do you know how to enable it on the MFP?

Did you fail to add the I/O device to scanrouter by browse for the device ? Try to add the device by manually input the IP address of the MPC 5000

Poke around in user tools, I can't remember exactly where it is, but it's easy to find when you start looking in there.
