Setup:
MP 2550, 261K, no past issues.
This machine has been in my care for 3 years, with no real issues, just regular maintenance calls.
Yesterday during a 100 page run the machine throws an SC 302.
The customer tried rebooting, unplugging from wall.
This morning I made the 1hour drive out to the customer.
Using the service manual I checked the PCU connection and cleaned everything possible.
The results were the same... SC302.
Here's what I observed...
At power on the SR790 setup and the Doc. Feeder could be heard spinning.
Normally the next sound is the machine itself doing its setup routine. It failed in the first few milliseconds of setup.
I next tried disconnecting the finisher and the doc Feeder and it failed again at the main machine setup.
I next went into tech mode and tested the main motor and pretty much tried the whole list of items and all worked.
So I am picking up a PCU right now and returning to the customer to at least try the PCU.
Any ideas about this silliness? 10+ years of working on Ricoh product and I have never ran into this issue.
All your help and ideas are appreciated!
