    MP2550 will not print or scan

    I just picked this up from my wholesaler and took back to my office to test and will not print or scan.
    copier and doc server work fine and I was able to get into WIM to set up the address book for scanning but scans don't go anywhere and no error message and when I try to print it does nothing.
    i have an MP2851 right next to it and it prints and scans fine with the same settings.
    Am I correct to assume these don't use a print scan sd card like the older models had?
    Also I pulled out the interface board and reseated the dimm and hdd.
    Possibly something in sim not turned on?

      Printer Features and Scanner Features should show in User Tools. If they do not, then you have a major problem, as they are imbedded on the controller board. If they do, but you can not print or scan through the network port, check SP 5985-001. It should be set to 1. SP 5985-002 is for the USB port and should be set to 1 to enable. If you can print through the USB port but not the network port, you may have a bad controller board. The port controller chip on the controller board is not opening the necessary ports for print and scan.

          Yes they both show in user tools and the nic and usb are both set to "1"
          I will have to try the usb printing but I didn't have a cable to test it.
          Like I said I am able to log into the WIM so the network appears to be working in that respect.

              OK so USB print works just no network print or scan.

                  Check and see if "Access Control" is enabled. Had a color machine show the same symptoms and this was the problem. Access control is under the security settings when using the WIM.

                      I would reset Printer Features back to factory default and clear NCS settings in SP 5801 for starters
