    LD 425C Printer: Paper Tray Status shows by-pass at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 with a key

When we try to copy letter paper from the bypass only a 5.5 x 8.5 image is produced. All the paper tray settings are correct, except with the printer screen. When you select the printer screen, the display shows the by-pass tray set for 5.5 x 8.5 with a small key next to the setting.

Can someone please explain how to change that setting? I've been through the service, and operation manuals, and can not seem to find a solution.

    Thanks, Marc

check your default settings under user tools to see if someone has set that instead of auto detect

Thanks for the reply. The Bypass setting was set at 5.5 x 8.5, which we changed to auto detect, and that is displayed on the control panel. Next we tried changing that to 8.5 x 11, which is displayed on screen as the Bypass paper size, but when we make a copy, it still only prints a 5.5 x 8.5 image on the paper.

We can get all the settings to show properly on the display, and if we use the "#" key to set paper size manually, then the image prints fine. It's only after doing a "clear modes" then make a copy from the bypass, that only a partial image is printed.

      Thanks again,

      Marc

Are you running the paper from the bypass as Short edge Feed or Long Edge Feed?
