Blank copies Ricoh 1018

went to a machine with an sc320 (Polygonal mirror motor error) I changed the polygon motor and the code went away but now all I get is blank copies...tried internal print, doc feeder, and on the glass

any sugestions??

Sound like the laser light is blocked somehow.

Don't see this model anymore. The front screw that mounts the Laser Housing is longer than the other 2 screws. Make sure the Laser Housing is in fact sitting flat on its mount. Also, I think this model requires both the Toner Supply Unit and Toner Bottle to be in place to "activate" a shutter on the Laser Housing.

Yes this is an ancient beast...I'm heading back to it tomorrow hopefully i can figure this out

Lets go with a quick question. Did you have the toner tray in when you tested it? I think this is a one of the models that has a shutter that blocks the laser unit when there is not a toner installed.

I tried it with the front switch cheated and with the machine completly put back together

sounds like yo used polygon motor from another model 1022/2022/ etc different

I know its been a while since i updated. I went back out and took the laser unit toner hopper and pcu out nothing was blocking the laser unit. i put it all back together and it went to working fine i guess it was just a fluke.
