MPC5501 smb to Server 2012R2?

Can anyone tell me a work around for connecting mpc5501(system version 305) to server 2012 R2?
Client updated from 2003 to 2012 and now we cant get the smb 3 to connect, tried all fixes we know from previous experience, none work
