    MPC305 airprint

    Hi,

Not much experience on this machine, but customer asked
if he could print using the airprint function with his Ipad/Iphone.

Is this possible and do I need a wireless Lan option for it ?

    Thanks in advance

I think that you do not need a wireless Lan, but machine must be conected with a lan cable to a wireless router.

If the customer has a dedicated server, or PC that is always on, they can install AirPrint for Windows and print to any copier or printer from their phone or iPad.

See: How to enable AirPrint for Windows

Ruben have you done this before? I would really like to install that to test.
        Thanks for the info.

It's a common misconception that all AirPrint is wireless, that is not the case.

Case in point: I have a Brother laser printer at home that supports AirPrint, yet offers no wireless option for my model.

I connected it to an Ethernet port on my wireless router, and can print from our iPads with no issue at all.

              Different brand, same idea.

You would be correct KenB. It allows apple devices to print to devices that don't necessarily support post script printing, but support Airprint.......
As I stated Ricoh only released frimwar for the '03's, they are not giving away Ricoh wireless options......................

Use the Ricoh Smart Device print and scan app, android and mac compatible, works on all newer machines.

Once new firmware has been installed, you will need to go into user tools, admin settings and then certificates. activate new certificate and follow the screen directions. reboot and AirPrint will work as long as the Apple device is connected to the server by Wifi, Machine will be wired connection to the network and the whole thing works via the network.
