MPC3000 - Scanning Lamps Not Turning On

    Hello.

I am hoping you can help me, help my customer!

We delivered a brand new MPC3000 with the latest firmware etc.

It seems almost every Monday, when they return to work, they try to bring the copier back up from sleep mode and it throws an SC101-01 (White Plate Ref. Error)

Further investigation yielded that the scanning lamps are not turning on. You can hard power the machine off and on, and after a FEW cycles, the lamps will kick on and the machine will work fine.

So far I have only removed the platen glass and ensured a good connection on the lamp ends.

Where do I need to start looking?

    Thanks

Thats a Xeon lamp I think so I would check the connections on the lamp stabilizer board first and replace it if it happens again.

      Hi
The lamp signal comes from the BICU cn506 pin 3 (5v-0v trigger), to the SIO board cn316, then via cn317 pin 2 to the stabiliser board cn1.
The lamp runs off 24v line that many other components use like motors - if these are ok then the PSU should be ok.

We had this issue before and the only way to solve it, at least for us, was to replace the lamp.

Reseat the ribbon connector at both ends.
Delivery people tend to get rough with the machines because they don't have to fix it.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

Plus they get an attitude when you ask them to be carefull. And DON'T put that box on top of the Doc-feeder!
