Hi, I have strange issue in Ricoh MPC 2500. Only on black text prints i have greasy light background around few letters, only in one line. I've change dev unit and PCU. No changes. On picture line with "-141 B4 SEF"
Is it always on the same line? I've seen that happen on the big machines. The drum drive gears were dirty, causing the image to skip a little. Try cleaning the drum drive section, see if that helps.
----------------------------------------------- Config page instructions for copiers, printers, & fax machines
It is always on the same line and only when i'm printing text. It does not occur when copying (I tried to copy a newspaper - no marks). Fuser was also replaced. I'll try to clean the laser.
This looks a lot like an issue I had on one of these machines a while ago where the oil roller had a flat spot, and wasn't turning. I assume that it was causing a bit of drag when the page first entered the fuser.
Try testing the machine with the cleaning assy removed
I've got a similar blurred image line on a MP 6500 it was the laser shield glass that was dirty, it wasn't easy to see the dirt cause it was small toner particles. Cleaned it with alcohol, wupti the blurriness was gone.
