    2238c Black?

    Hi,
After I replaced the drum drive motor and the gears, a few copies later........
The black toner will not fill up the development unit. First sc393-01 came up development error.
Then I did a reset and then sc386 gamma error, I did another reset of the black toner then Toner supply mechanism came up.

Also my process control self check sp3-975-001 comes up at 2 not 1 as it should?

I was going to do a forced toner sp2-207 but thought I better ask. Is my pump stuffed or is it the developer issue.
The copies come out with extreme fading in the Black department on every copy like its out of toner?

I have spare machines, should I replace the toner transport system? or toner supply unit?

What do you think, your wisdom will be much appreciated.
    Regards
    Paul

sounds like you missed a connector somewhere on the k dev/drum area. As i remember you have to take off quite a bit to get to the back of the gears ass'y. Strip everything down and check every wire.

You may need to replace the black toner pump. It is a pain on this model. You could also have a clogged toner supply tube or a ruptured diaphragm on one of he vibrator pumps near the toner bottles.

Whole bunch of things that have to come out of the front and top, including the laser unit, to get at the pump. In can be done without removing the laser unit, but it makes it a lot easier.

Have you tried another black dev unit? Sounds to me like it could just be a broken dev auger. So while the toner may be being fed from the pump, it's not loaded and.dispersed inside the dev unit. A good indicator is if toner is building up on the rear of the dev unit at the toner entrance.

no build up. check the developer 1st and replaced.
