Thanks cooljeb. Yes I did initialize the developer when I changed the developer. I guess that is what caused all this hassle now.
Any way I have to open up the dev unit again tomorrow to see any toner clogs there. so I will try to reinitialize it again.

Thanks a lot. I have a little confidence now. I will report back how it went tomorrow night.
Just take the toner hopper off the top of the development unit and set it on a puppy pad. Manually turn the coupler for the toner shaft, not the recycle unit, and see if toner comes out on the pad. If not, the holes on the metering plate can be cleaned by vacuuming. If toner does come out, the clutch, locates on the development motor assembly, is bad.

(I just got through trouble shooting the same problem on a Pro 1357EX. Turned out to be the toner roller motor.)

your using a compatible toner? what I do is, I try to modified the hole in the toner supply unit, drill it to make it a little bigger sometimes compatible toner often harden in the toner supply unit, which makes you crazy isolating the real cause, then lower the toner supply rate so that less toner will drop and it will not overtoned.
.....with all it shams, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.....

Hello slimslob, Thanks for the tip. I will check it out today.

Hi gear13z, No the copier is using original Ricoh toner. Not compatible.

A long shot, but when the 1060 1st came out we ran into issues with the rubber Toner Add drive gear at the back wearing down & slipping against the toner add roller gear. I used to screw in a PCU screw into the rubber to catch the DV unit gear.

Today I opened up the developer unit, it appears to be good. Toner hopper indeed had bad toner with tiny beads. I removed all the toner from toner hopper and gave a good blow of air to clear any remaining toner. Assembled it back.

I will take it to the copier tomorrow and put it in then see if that solves the problem. If not I guess I need to change the mag roller.

Thanks to every one. I will keep you posted.
