    Perfect Binder: A1 OR GB5000-5010

Does anyone know if the Perfect Binder GB5000 or 5010 (Ricoh model) can be used alone - offline?
Or does it have to be installed on a copier as in-line?
Note - this is the same binder also called the Binder-A1 by Canon.
    Thank you.

From looking at the service manual, the paper enters the Perfect Binder one page at a time. The upstream equipment must send a signal when the last sheet has been fed in.

Thank you Toner Bomb and Slimslob:
Yes, it needs a copier to operate it then.

It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

            Hit it.
