Good morning, people.
I'm having these odd "jams" on the C901. And I say "jams" in between quotation marks because the paper doesn't jam, but it stops for a moment before heading for the purge bucket.
So the machine can make about 30 sheets of paper in a row before jamming. But when it jams, I can no longer make another sheet, because it will keep on jamming.
The machine will have 4 sheets jammed when I open it up, in this order:
1st sheet: Purge bucket with both sides printed
2nd sheet: On the right side of the duplexing unit
3rd sheet: Reverse unit
4th sheet: Just between the paper feed tray's rollers
With the door open, I can observe the 1st sheet stopping at the registration gate for a longer time than usual before heading to the purge bucket.
I've tried swapping sensors around the registration unit, adjusting the paper feed's paper height and even tried a completely different registration unit from a different machine.
Finally, one last bit of a perhaps important information: the paper the customer is using is unusual in that it is coated on one side and plain on the other. I don't really know if it can explain this problem, but the fact that the machine can make a handfull of copies before starting to jam leads me to believe that it should be able to (and the fact that the customer already used this paper in the past without any problem, and keeps using it on another different brand machine).
Thanks!
