Touch screen calibration is accessed from "Screen service mode".

slimslob is correct. the panel has it's own service mode, as well as it's own frimwar to update also. If you have the manual it's all in there in the section for the SOP.

the only thing it does not mention in the service manual is the sequence of keys to access the " screen service mode " ...

You will get that when you go to the service school or you can ask your service manager or regional rep. It is also here on CTN in a couple of threads. Responsible techs will not put it in a public thread. Ricoh changed it because the old one was too widely known by people who are not qualified to repair Ricoh equipment.

Ricoh should deny access to SOP model service manuals until at least one tech at any given supplier is qualified and maybe should do something along similar lines for the actual sales of SOP models.

But what I do not agree with is degrading the quality of the service manuals by omitting key information.

Yeah, I agree with that. It took me longer to figure out how to get into service mode today to reset a SC542 code on an sp5210 than it did to replace the fuser! It does not say how to do it in the manual, I had to use the customers computer to google it.
