[Error Code] SC 144 (MP C2050)

I have a machine with error SC 144. As mentioned in SM that BCU is defective. I tested the BCU and it was working fine. I have not yet tested the SBU. Do you think it could be the culprit? Any ideas?

Since the SBU is the very first thing mentioned in the SM as a possible cause..... Yes, I think that would be where I'd lean

        1. Can you ON the exposure lamp using output of SP mode (5804)
        2. Is it showing front door open alert?

You CAN find the setting in output mode to turn the lamp on but it doesn't appear to work.
I went to an MPC2051 this morning with an SC144 and replacing the SBU fixed it.

Had the same thing with a 3350....in my case it was a poor connection on the bicu, unplug and plug in again any connector on the bicu board

Have you even tried anything like looking in the service manual? Better yet, start a new thread grave robber.

                  perfom this:

                  SBU Test Mode
To make sure that the scanner SBU control board is working properly, run the
test SBU with SP4-807-001. After activating the SP mode and pressing the Start button, it will come
                  SBU test pattern printed.
                  • If the copy is abnormal and the SBU test pattern is normal, the CCD on the
                  SBU board.
                  • If the copy is normal and the SBU test pattern is abnormal, the causes may be as follows:
                  • The wiring between the SBU and the i-controller may not be properly connected.
                  • The i-controller or SBU card may be defective.
                  IPU Test Mode
It is possible to check the operation of the BICU card using the SP mode menu, SP4-904-1.
If no errors are found, the test ends and the code appears on the control panel display
completion. If an error occurs, the test is aborted and the relevant code will be displayed
mistake. The following table lists the completion codes and error codes.

i personaly think of SBU, BICU, RIBBON CABLE, CCD, IPU...

you need an other mpc2050 for change part, until you find the problem

P.S the mpc2050 and 2051, they are radically different from each other
