[CQ] Ricoh MPC 2000 - printing bad copies.

    Hello All,

I'm a newbie here, and willing to seek some help on MPC2000.

I did a forced line position adjustment, and after some 50 and odd copies, the toner (Black) depleted.

I switched off the machine and turned it on, toner went to undetectable. Now when i try to force line adjustment, it fails. Please advise of what could be the problem and a solution as well.

I'm sure that the bottle (black) has enough toner.

    Thanks in advance.

If you are with an authorized Ricoh dealer or branch you can download it from your Ricoh support site. Otherwise do a Google search.

              Hell all,

Thanks for guiding me through the procedure.

Looks like Toner pump is the culprit. I'm getting the part tomorrow. Will replace it, and post the result.

              Thanks a ton again!

                hello slimsob,

i've replaced the toner pump, and yet it doesnt recognize the black toner.

is it possible that the toner chip's play might be involved in this one? or any other part has been jacked.

                Please advise.

                thanks

Does the machine even try and add toner? If you cheat the front door, does the bottle turn? Did you vacuum out the toner supply hose when you changed the pump?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

                  Hit it.

In my experience with the MP C2500/3000 toner pumps, when it goes out in seems to mess with the chip on the end of the bottle. So if you have changed the pump, cleared out the hose, and nothing is registering still...then if you are using the original toner bottle that was in there when the pump went bad, i suggest getting a new toner or replacing the chip.

Turn off Toner End Detection SP 3045. If the machine now run properly, the RFID chip or RFID sensor board is defective. If the cartridge still has a lot of toner left, continue to use the machine until it runs out of toner. You will not be prompted at 17% that it is low, but instead when the TD sensor detects the toner concentration drops to low and toner add cycle does not replenish it. After you replace the cartridge, turn SP 3045 back on. If it then goes back to displaying toner out, the RFID board is bad.

yes, the bottle (BK) turns when the machine boots up

ah well i shall check for the chips once. my fear is, once we had tried to use working machine's toner (OEM) into a faulty machine.

then the working toner was dead. hence taking all the suggestions from here.

thanks for your inputs, will get a chip or a new toner and post further.

okay, will try that. Im still having a doubt if the black toner pump i received is working fine. Because i dont see any black powder inside the tube, nor the pump itself. Bizarre right.

If there is no toner entering the tube the problem could be the nozzle assembly on the back of the toner hopper assembly PN B2233205.
