Have you changed the CIS?It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

Re: MPC5502A second side all Black
We bought a used ricoh mpc5502 and upon arrival we had the same exact problem. We called Ricoh tech support and they said someone did a memory clear and forgot to input the 2nd CCD adf scan settings. Right off the top of my head I cant remember the 4 settings but it had to do with the 4 colors. Might want to contact Ricoh and ask them what they are and I hope you have the birth certificate.Live for something or die for nothing.Comment

The real question is does he require the relevant information from the original machine where the SPDF was taken from.
I cannot recall if those values are common or unique to each CIS ass'y.Last edited by Cipher; 06-13-2015, 11:14 AM.- Knowledge not shared, is eventually knowledge that becomes lost... like tears in the rain.

I don't know if Ricoh machines still have birth certificates (a sheet that lists all the values of adjustments available in SP mode and the ones that were changed from factory default) anymore, but if so you might want to check that to see if it can help.
Although I suppose you've already done that, so I'm sorry for wasting your time.
On a lighter note, you might want to check where the doc feeder plugs into the base machine and how that connects to the IOB board. Just a guess.
Heh, back in the day when I got to set up Ricoh machines, I'd toss the birth certificate and replace it with the print out from SP 5-990-006, which at least back in the day was a listing of only non-default SP adjustment values. It was a lot easier on the eyes.Comment

Print SMC DATA SP 5990-6, check SP 4-712, 4-713, 4-714, if the result is 0 input the default value of the SMC sheetComment
