Ricoh Aficio 3025 DV leak/Stripped Gears

I am getting frustrated with this machine!
Customer calls and says added toner and still says add toner. I go out there and the gears are stripped on the mag roller and the mag roller idler gear next to it. (Not turning augers so won't recieve toner). There was developer on the gears on the lower half (Dev unit) and I that is why they got stripped.

I vacuumed out and installed new gears but I can't see where the dev is leaking? I looked at the top portion and it looks just fine no dev in the drum area. Dev is covering the gears but when I try and find where it is coming from I am at a loss. Today is the 3rd time i have replaced the gears and I am thinking of changing whole PCU or maybe the lower half with the mag roller. Machine has 178K on it. Has anyone seen this? Any help is appreciated!

I have many 3025's out in the field and none of them do this they are great, just this one. The machine is perfectly level also.

I have seen this on all the machines that use this dev system. All the way back to the 1018's I think.

Anyway, I have found two main causes for the leaking dev...
    - The first being the most common (was for our shop, for a long time anyway), is that the dev spills into the gear section while adding the dev during a PM or even a new install. It's very easy to get a small amount in there and over time it just crews up the gears.

    - The second reason is that the bushings for the dev augers, on the drive side, wear out and allow dev to leak by. In the field, you can take the unit down to this point and swap the bushings from the front to the rear. This will at least stop the leakage, so you can get back with a new lower unit, which what we normally replace in these cases. *note* (this will only work, of course, if you catch it in time. Most of the time, you hear a loud rumbling coming from the drum unit. If this is the case, and print quality is still ok, this will work as a temp repair)

It can also be caused by improperly installing the top half of the developer. There is a new style bottom case (the part that has the developer in it). The "new" ones have white paint on the screws on top of the unit. If it's not a new style unit, you might want to consider replacing it. Also, I've had success replacing it with the 411020 PCU in the field.
the savin2535 is displaying well bet the hiter lamp is not shining and the lamp had been tested o.k.please kindly help.

        Thanks you guys,
will the 1027 PCU (411020) lower part of the pcu work in the 3025?
What about the sensor? I have plenty of these.
        Thanks again!

I think the lower cases are very close, if not the same. I've never swapped just the bottom case from a non rebuildable to a rebuildable pcu, but I think it should work. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
