mpc5502 by pass registration

I have a client that is trying to print pre filled in checks from adobe to the mpc5502 i have set the by pass to plus 9 on the leading edge and just makes it to the line item where the name goes,
is there another way to get more out the adjustment, or what?
The client seem to think its physically something with the machine, i think its the pre set margins on the check, but i want you guys opinion
the client is taking a ruler out and measuring his screen shot of the check...... and says the margins are all correct, but im not so sure the monitor image is what the computer is sending.

Most check printing programs that I know of have a utility for aligning printing to the printer being used. Change printers and you have to so it all over again. Measuring the image on the screen is not an accurate method to determine print margins.
