Hi guys and girls,

If I print 1 copy of a page the obviously it prints that page, but when I try to print 2 or more copies of the same page... still only 1 copy prints.

I've tried and tested RPCS and PCL5 drivers.

Any ideas...?

What happens if you print a document with multiple pages? From your posting it appears that if you print a single page document once it will print fine but if you try to print multiple copies of the same single page document you still only get one.

I'd like to know what happens if you print a multipage document. Also, is this only occurring from one type application such as MS Word or Publisher or Photoshop? And if it is only occurring in a certain application does it manifest itself in every file or just certain files?

You can see there could be multiple answers but we need to narrow down the cause.

If not application related then maybe the hard-drive is failed/failing. Could be that a firmware update is needed....

Just give us some answer to the above question and we can probably help.

did you try printing from a laptop with a crossover cable it could be a network problem

There definitely could be quite a few things that could be causing this. To me, it sounds like a corrupt driver, but you said that you've tried & tested the RPCS & PCL5c driver.

Have you downloaded the latest driver from Ricoh? And, how does it act from another computer?

As pspahr and mowpro have stated, it very well could be a firmware problem and/or a network issue causing this. I would try to isolate this by sending the job from a similar application/computer setup.

Try a x-over cable from a laptop and see what happens. At least you'll be able to narrow it down a bit. Personally, I've never been a big fan of the RPCS driver. I know people who swear by it, but I prefer the tried-and-true emulated drivers.

I've only been to one or two of these printers but....

...there's not a "sample print" option enabled in user tools is there?

Just going by experience with customers who complain of this problem with copiers, usually it's because sample print is set to "on".

Hence you copy/print to the machine, a single copy comes out (i.e your sample print, that you are supposed to look at and decide whether you like before banging straight on with your other 100 copies) then you usually hit # and the rest come out.

Also make sure the "letterhead" paper type is not set to on, this has caught someone out before, the machine wondered why you would print so many copies of one letter, printed the first page and ignored the rest.
