    Ricoh MP C4500

The color registration is off on this Ricoh MP C4500. I can go into the maintenance menu after pressing user tools/counter button and perform the color calibration page but when I try to perform the color registration the machine runs for a few minutes then stops and and says it is unable to perform adjustment. I have attached a sample of the color calibration page and a sample of a color copy. The machine also has the same problem when executing a print job. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Laser calibration is off. Issues can be different: developer low, id sensor dirty, toner low and settings set to calibration off when toner low ecc

I would do a forced toner refresh and then re-run registration form user mode. Your cyan is light and the registration will be off, especially if the cyan is light and the machine can't make the patch. My bet is once you do forced toner refresh the registration will be right. Of course the basic things should be done like cleaning, id sensors clean, good t-belt, etc.

There is a forced color registration method in service mode.
Can't remember the code off the top of my head, but start with 3 first then work up to 1.
Then do the all the calibrations in user tools.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

          Forced line position adjustment:
          SP3211-3 (rough)
          then
SP3211-1 (fine) - do this one twice

Clean the image density sensor first.

The forced color registration [Forced Line Position Adj.] start with 2not 3 [2-111]
              SP 2-111-003 Executes once.
              SP 2-111-002 Executes once
              SP 2-111-001 Executes twice.

OOPS! My bad! You would be correct.

A lot of people say to do SP 2111-1 twice after doing SP 2111-3. Sp 2111-1 actually executes fines adjustment, SP 2111-2, twice. The actual directions in the service manual says to do SP 2111-3 and the do SP 2111-1, or do SP 2111-3 and then do SP 2111-2 twice. You can also do Auot Color Alignment in User Tools.

SP 3011-1 is Manual Process Control and should be done after cleaning or replacing the ID sensor.

Clean the ID sensors, clean the sensor located on the underside of the front, right hand corner of the ITB unit
                    Run SP 2-111-003
                    Run SP 2-111-001 twice
Then execute colour registration in user tools
                    That's what I do anyway

If nothing of the above works, give the customers a box of these:

Sounds like "someone" did an engine clear (BIG NO NO). Best way to resolve this is to (hopefully) get the birth certificate behind the label inside the front door. Input ALL magnification ratio and laser motor values manually, then do the forced line adjustments and finally, the color registration in user tools.

Thanks for all the input. I performed
                          sp 2-111-03 (once)
                          2-111-01 (twice)

Then color registration twice for good measure . It fixed the problem
