MP301 cover open message on a new machine

We have a brand new machine out of the box with a cover open message (right cover). What's the best/easy way to remove the door switch? Or has anyone experienced this issue and has found a solution.

Here's what I do when I purchase something new and it doesn't work 'right out of the box'... I put it right 'back in the box' and return it for a credit, or a new one.
I'm curious why that isn't what you do?

Rather than remove the safety interlock switch, it might be more productive to look for a broken interlock actuator on the right hand cover.
Pictures would be useful so that we can help you with that as we can't see your machine. Thanks.

Also, removing the interlock switch would create other problems. If it's brand new, get a replacement

push switch on main chassis(right below scanner base on right side/door side) has been damaged or literally shoved into interior cavity b/c of packing or blunt force. not terrible to replace but make sure scanner is ok, once anything in there is broken or eschew it will never work 100% correctly again. switch is usually all black plastic or outer casing is black and actuator part of switch is white plastic. We've had a few arrive with this type of damage. We've RMA's some and repaired some when in a hurry to get them out to customer

Had one also with the push switch damaged.

We acquired a used one from 1 of those used equipment wholesalers- 3 altogether- and 1 had a cover open message.

Ended up being a push switch that is on the right side just about at the top of the machine. It's about 1.5" maybe to the right
of the latch if you look at it with the right side cover open. Switch was sort of damaged so I put the pieces of it back together and
has been fine since. The white plastic actuator part of it was loose.

Unfortunately I didn't discover this until replacing the microswithches inside the cover first. Not really the best set up for getting access to that area.
