    [CQ] Ricoh Pro C5100

    Afternoon all,

Recently PM'd two of these and they're having print quality issues.

They're picking up old images from the paper transfer unit.

I'm guessing this unit isn't moving away from the transfer belt when it should be.

All Ricoh help desk said was to make sure the media catalogue was up to date (which it is).

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Cheers.

No they're pretty constant. These are the only two charis I have. The new ptr's got dirty very quickly.

      Somethings not right?

      Thanks.

Its NOT a PTR issue. Definitely a paper type mismatch in the paper settings. If you run thicker paper under Paper 2 weight, It will NOT fuse properly. Also in the "advanced settings" (if enabled) under user tools, there is a couple of settings for fusing temp that need to be checked. The PTR does get pretty discolored during normal use but rarely has anything to do with actual PQ. If there was an issue with PTR lift, you would get an SC.

Sorry I don't have easy access to documentation anymore (Left Ricoh in May after 27 + years), but hopefully will give you some direction to go. Good Luck

There is a technical bulletin for this issue

Update your media library to the latest version (which is version 11) it will get rid of the problem completely

This is a known issue up to the media library version 9, it has been sorted from version 10 onwards

Mines on 12. Just seen a 16 for EU so I'll give that a go.

                  Thanks.

Hi. Where do you check what version of the media library you have?. I have a couple of these machines but have only just got them so no problems yet. Is the update if required through Sd as normal?

                    Thanks. Tim.
