SCX-5935FN dead. No lights, no power. Fan on power supply turning. Took fuser out and clicks. Held down 0 key turning on and touch screen calibration came up (beeps when touched). Turn off and on. Then machine came to ready and all functions worked (wierd). Default login for sofware update is admin-sec00000. Tech said customer had red light on with message to turn off and on. Machine never came back up.

Well, now it is not fixed. Sales rep went to take it back and turned it off and it did not come back on. I have had so many service calls I have not been able to get back to it. No power but after trying for a while or the next day it comes on. Anyone have a fix for this. I am thinking power supply and main board but thought I would ask if anyone knows exactly which board? Thanks. -

Question then : have you tried to move the machine to a difffert power source? Ive had a few instances in the past on 5935's where they weren't getting proper voltage and acting similar, or use a meter and check the ground, try thatComment

It moved from the customers to our shop, so yes we did. Did not check voltage or ground but we don't usually have problems here. We did try another power cord and it did not come with the one it was using at the customers. The fan by the power supply always comes on. We have been turning it on and off for a week and it is ok. But I thought it was fixed and it did not turn on the day we decided to bring it back. One thing I did notice is the java symbol in the right hand corner when you turn on the machine is not there on the samsung screen. I only have one in the field myself but saw another on and they both had that symbol.Comment

Replaced the power supply (included on/off switch and power recepticle). Samsung rep said they have had some issues with power supplys.Comment
