    Samsung SCX-5935 cassette jam

I have a customer that is getting jam out of cassette, somewhat intemittant, replace cassette roller and sep.pad, I swapped a cassette to be sure thats not the prob. it does feed just fine out of the by-pass.Pick up roller seems to be spining, sometimes it will feed a little out of cassette, up to registartion roller. the cam that spins the pick up roller always seems to be "home position". has anyone seen this problem, I did check paper path nothing in the way, as it does sometimes will feed..?
    any help appreciated !..Thanks

Scratching the brain to remember this model.

I believe the paper feed flag or exit flag can break off on this machine if the paper jamb is removed forcefully.
I may a part no. floating around for the flag in question. If not Blackcat will have the part no. I'm sure.

      Re: Samsung SCX-5935 cassette jam

I have a few records that might interest you:

Misfeeds "Jam at Fuser", "Registration Jam", and "Feed Jam at Tray 2" from tray #2. Every 20 pgs, three overlapped pages feed through, stepped ~19mm between pages. Inadequate page separation at tray #2. Installed 15mm long separation spring to replace the standard 10mm long spring. Lift plate must be removed to access separation.

Misfeeds "Feed Jam at Tray 2" from tray #2. Every 100 pgs, difficult to reproduce. Lift plate separation springs are not properly seated in the molded cassette base. Re-seat the tray #2 lift springs into the depressions in the cassette base.

I think you might be thinking of the SCX-6345 Neo. They were known for breaking exit flags, and that it was part of the fuser, so you had to order the whole fuser. =^..^=

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I am having the exact same issue as you had. Tried both paper trays, First cleaned the pickup roller and separator pad, and finally replaced the pickup roller.

I can hold the green cassette loaded trigger tab and watch the pickup roller spin around 2x before I get a error. So that all visually seems to be correct and working.

However, when I load a cassette in and try to print, it will either not pickup the paper out of the cassette, or Barely pickup the front edge of paper ( By Barely I mean just gently pulling out the paper cassette the paper is just partially rolled as it was trying to be fed. )

So I'm wondering if this is the same exact issue that you had, and if so do you happen to have the part number of the roller clutch you stated you replaced ?

Were you able to see visual damage to this part ?

Thanks and any help is greatly appreciated.

IT'S BEEN BEEN A WHILE i DON'T HAVE A MANUAL ANYMORE. You need to also check that the solenoid is working as well.
Samsung-SCX-5935FN-OEM-Feed-Clutch-Assembly.jpgThis may be it. You will need to double check.

JC97-01788A is/should be the part number. About a $8.00 part. Go figure. I just spent a few hours cleaning up a HP4350 so this will have to wait for a bit. At least They got something up and running now, so I've bought myself a little bit of time.

I will still report back here after I dig into it more with what I find that's wrong.

Thanks for replying back so quickly.

Well, I dug into this tonight, and found that it's a plastic shaft JC66-01160A SHAFT-M_FEED2 . Seems the Keyway inside has rounded out and while the pickup roller is working fine, the feed bar is not spinning.

Does anyone know of a good place to source this part ?
