[Dead] ProXpress M4080FX ~ Will Not Print out Counter Report Or Make a Copy ~

    Good day Everyone,

Ricoh Tech here: Working on a clients ProXpress M4080FX that is Freezing when attempting to print out the Count Report.

    1. The display says it is "PRINTING".

    2. If we press the Blue Start button a 2nd. time The display says "The job is in process. Please wait."

    3. At the: "Counter; Device Total Usage" screen, we note that all Counters are at 0 (Zero) count.

Entering the Service Mode "Total Printed Impressions" displays 29,388

    4. If we attempt to make a copy from the Platen Glass or D.F. a note appears saying "Warming up. Please wait." and when we

check the Status Screen, it displays : "Copy Job is Pending."

    5. If we select the Fax function by Sending a Fax to the machine or Just calling the machine, It will not answer the call.

Thank you for any input on this Issue, Have a great day to all.

Sounds like an S5-3111 error (doesn't always report in logs)
Essentially, device panel not retrieving information from the Mainboard for whatever reason.

Try printing from a computer, this confirm that. Since if the mainboard is fully functional you will be able to print, but not perform anything on the OPE.

If printing is fine then try firmware > cabling > boards/OPE
If printing is not fine then try firmware > mainboard > cabling > ope

Also worth checking storage unit is okay. I forget if this model uses a physical HDD, if it does, then as all Samsung's that use a physical HDD and not an SD card, they tend to crap themselves every few years.

Re: ProXpress M4080FX ~ Will Not Print out Counter Report Or Make a Copy ~

      Good day Crowfeather,

I was able to config print driver by enabling IPv 6 and sent a test page which the status screen displays that it is receiving the print job but never prints out the document.

In addition I attempted to run the machine with the HDD disabled but that caused the machine to display the Format or Repair HDD options. I had hoped the machine could function without a HDD & confirm the HDD was the cause of the malfunction.

That not proving any help, I then attempted to update to
      Samsung_M408x_Series_V5.C6.04.hds-FW .

But now the printer driver is no longer seen by the Windows 10 , so I am guessing Trouble shooting the HDD caused the loss of print ability.

Thank you Kindly Crowfeather for your attention & input.

      Have a great weekend.
