We have a client with a SCX-6555 that when it goes to sleep, on waking the machine locks up, the only way to get any response is to switch mains power off and turn on again. We have removed the RAM and re-seated but no difference. It sounds to me like possibly a mainboard issue or even a wake on LAN issue. I haven't as yet disabled the energy saving features but that is my next task.
The poor client has had nothing but problems with this machine, and after 5 months their first SCX-6555 was replaced under warranty because the machine kept printing a faint line down the middle of the page, even after drum unit, toner cartridge and fuser unit were changed.
Starting to really hate samsung products, we sell a bucket load of them but they seem to be the most unreliable pieces of junk on the market. I can't even recall how many CLP-610 CLX-6210 machines we have replaced the fusers on after about 25,000 pages, some fusers have failed with less than a 7,000 page count. For some smaller users that wouldn't even print that volume in a year - its a real kick in the pants to find that you then have to replace a fuser on machine that is out of warranty but only printed 6-7,00 pages.
How have other folks found samsung products.
We also tend to get the run around from the Samsung and their support. We were thinking of taking up their offer of being a service agent but we'd like other peoples feedback before we take the plunge.
