I have a Samsung SCX-5530 that will double feed after three, five, sometimes six or seven copies. Replaced feed tires and sep. pad assembly. Looks like it overdirves and then double sheet feeds. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Two things you can check:
1) Observe the metal wrap that secures to lower edge of the separation pad. I've seen that severely deformed, though I can't think of a single reason why a customer would do so.
2) On a SCX-4828 I had a customer that complained of constant multifeeding from the optional paper tray. It was not constant enough however for me to ever see it occur. There were some paper jams from that tray, I can confirm that much. The rollers and pad were new. As an experiment I installed a separation spring that was 4mm longer than the original. I haven't worked on that machine since (1 year +). Is it fixed? I can only hope.

Thanks Blackcat. The sep. pad is brand new and was replaced as an assembly and the feed tire is new. I will try the longer spring and let you know the outcome.
As for the one always trying to sell a manual: Do you think I just started doing this stuff last week? Of course I have the parts and service manual. Why would anyone who knows anything BUY a manual when you can downlaod ninety nine percent of them form the internet if you know where to look..........................................just sayin'.

In Paul's defense, he knows nothing about you. You would be surprised how many screwballs come on this forum never having cracked a manual. I guess they expect that this is some kind of a service charity, giving away stuff.... As for the one always trying to sell a manual: Do you think I just started doing this stuff last week?
