Samsung 6545 Imaging unit error 31-007

    Hi guys

Just wondering if anyone has come accross this error before on a samsung 6545, machine has a solid red light with error message (Imaging unit error please replace with new one 31-007) nothing in the manuel for this error code, have tried another known working imaging unit which never cured it, looked at it with another engineer and decided it may be the main board but replaced today and still the error remains, tried with hdd unplugged and it still remains.

    Any ideas appreciated

    Thanks

    Richard

I'm willing to bet that the cartridge you installed was not new. These imaging units are chipped. The error indication can only be cleared by a new unit. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

We've had to change the Main Board on these and similar models to cure this error. Also have had to change SMPS at times.

Samsungs have major board issues. We've replaced a ton of them out in the field as well as hard drives.
