    Samsung ML331DN or 331DX

Does anyone know what the default IP address is on this machine? I have an IT admin asking me to get him the IP address so that he can see it on his network and get the machine up and running. I suggested trying 192.168.1.10, which is default on the Muratecs (that's what I'm most familiar with).

Typically 192.168.0.100 but I've got something even better for you. Samsung has this proprietary utility the seeks out Samsung printers and helps you set the IP address, called SetIP. I'll see if I can attach it. I'm not sure if it matters but this is for 32bit OS.

OK, it's attached. If you're running 64bit you can download from here: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Network...ls/SetIP.shtml
    Attached Files
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

For people following this, getting the IP off a Samsung product can be a big deal.

Most of the little tabletop Samsungs have maybe 3 LEDS and one button. And you can't always print the config page with the one button. Most of the time you can't.

Without SetIP there are two ways to change the IP:
        1) Know the old IP, crossover to the printer on an address in the IP range, the from the webpage change the IP.
        2) Crossover to you laptop and run NetScan from 1.1.1.1 to 254.254.254.254 It will take a long time, but NetScan will grind through all the possibilities and find it for you.

        SetIP is a miracle utility.

We still deal with Samsung, but, only two models. SCX-5935 and SCX-4835. The colour printers are absolute garbage and we learned that the hard way, by selling them. lol

I have a customer who uses the SCX5935 and am learning them, although they somewhat intimidate me at times (I'm not a field tech, only a phone support person FOR field techs!).

With the SCX-5935 the main thing to remember is, anytime it starts behaving erratically the first place to start is the HDD. Other than that they are pretty good MFPs.
