    [Error Code] Sharp Color Frontier Series Error L4-16 mostly MX-C311

    Has anyone ran across excessive L4-16 errors mostly on MX-C311 copiers?

    We have tried new Sensors, new Solenoids, new Pressure Release Drive Levers, new rebuild kits, Even new fusers - but some machines are just throwing L4-16 codes every few pages.

      Customer is probably not powering off in correct sequence.

          Yes we have had a lot of these lately, and most of them is caused by the slides bindng up when the fuser is suppose to open and close. I have tried to lube these with various grease or oil. it helps for awhile, then it won't slide again. This causes it to throw the code or only fuses the front or rear side of the prints. My thought is the metal they are building these out of is changing shape
          when it gets hot, or cools back down. I hope they find a fix soon this gets very costly and the new ones aren't lasting at all. Just my thoughts. Dan.

              same for me . last one only lasted 20k and had a eaten fuser drive gear pin.there is a modification for that. may be physically turn & check the fuser drive gears for any damage or slippings.

                  If the enduser does not power off at the panel, then at the switch, the fuser pressure does not retract. When the machine is powered up you get a nice "CRUNCH" when it smashes the cam. If I walk up to a machine that's already off, I'll make sure the fuser is pressure-off before powering up.

                  If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                  1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                  2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                  3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                  4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                  5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

                      If I am not wrong fuser on MX-C311 hasn't got pressure tabs. How can you release pressure?

                          You release pressure by shutting down in the proper sequence.

                              Got that code right now, check fuser drive gears. Those plastic brown gear are worn down. When that happens the fuser is struggling to turn
