    Sharp MX2310/2610/3110 F2 Codes

Hi all, I know a lot of these F2-4xxx codes are due to customers not storing or shaking the toner properly but I seem to be getting more and more of them recently, many have ended with me having to fit a new toner cartridge. This seems to happen on genuine or compat toners. Am I just being unlucky or is their an underlying problem here or something I am
    Missing.

From my experience F2-4X code come out to play when the coronas start to arch or the drum coating gets a hole in it. The toner motor cant keep up.

I meant to say when the developer wears out , not the toner. that 1st post must have been too early this morning

I had one that the corona was arching and you could see a line of DV on the drum gibing F2 code.

What's the page count on b&W and on Color?? If you run the drums to long it will start depleting the developer.

I have it on good authority that firmware must be version 7.00 or higher, as shown to be the fix in the attached bulletin. As version 7 came out several years ago, I would think you'd have covered that already, and concentrating on other common causes, such as the familiar toner cartridge gears breaking, as frequently seen on that series. =^..^=

It's been quite common for the D shaft to become dislodged and no longer rotate the toner auger within the cartridge. The root cause of the problem is either toners stored vertically with subsequent hardened toner or the cartridge box bashed around during transport.

                See attached photo:

On several Sharp models, the toner cartridges should be removed when transporting; any Sharp machine that you set up with the toner sense (TC 25-2) with the toner not installed yet, must be transported without the toners installed. You might get luckly, but an F2-40 for B/W is almost a sure bet. On the color machines, there are several other codes that might happen. (But, I'm often FoS)
