Re: Sharp MX 3100N Color Misregistration
possible causes of front error or rear error when doing 50-22.
1: make sure shutter is opening(laser unit) and slit glass is clean(laser unit)
2: developer and or drum in good condition(run sky shot for problem color)
3: perform calibration/test transfer belt sensors 44-2 and 44-13 ? clean sensors , these read the patches on the belt.
4:check 50-10 item A, set to 100
5. perform 50-20 manual adjustment using 11X17 paper (also on 50-20 you can set A-F to 100 ,default value)
6: last resort would replace LSU.
over the years on of the above has corrected the color registration errors . also make sure it is a brand new transfer belt unit not one from another machine. used belt unit could be binding or slipping causing mis reg of colors , or if transfer roller in belt unit is bad can cause the front or rear error for a certain colorComment

Re: Sharp MX 3100N Color Misregistration
Your yellow drum laser may be out of whack. When it lays the patch of yellow on the belt, it is not in the range of the belt sensors to read properly.
Adjust the yellow LSU screws 5 clicks left, then SIM mode, 10 left, SIM mode until it can read the patch without error.
If not working left, go back to where you started and go 5, 10, 15 right clicks, etc....
Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!Comment

Re: Sharp MX 3100N Color Misregistration
suggestion only perform sim50-22 then look at the skew level 5th coloum or so and then turn the screw on your drum unit in the direction of the skew then perform the sim again,do the same in the case of all the drums to bring them all to within 1-1.5, then I suggest you also check your 61-04 to make sure that the ajustment has not altered it.could not think of anything else!!!!Comment
