    SHARP MXC402SC LSU NOISE

I am getting a whining noise during printing and if I just lift up the adf.
The noise goes to a high pitch, then slows down and goes away until I either lift up the adf or copy or print.
It sounds like some hp printers do when the polygon motor is going out.
Is this a known thing on this model?
Can the polygon motor be removed and oiled to fix or is it too well sealed for that?
    and
How do I get the LSU out?
The manual really is lacking on details on this.
It looks like it is accessed from the left side of the machine and a couple thing have to be removed to get to it, but
I'm hoping for a little extra info, before I try to tackle this one.

Yes manual is pretty light on remove instructions. But is relatively easy.

Yes on left side. Couple boards and a fan if I recall correctly

    Would not try to oil.

    Motor available as RMOTP0987FCPZ

The bearings in the LSU motors are mostly air bearings and don't require lubrication. However, I have seen posts on other sites that say they have had some success, at least temporarily, with a tiny dot of very light oil. I never do that, I just replace the entire LSU unit. The are relatively inexpensive these days and then you move on.

Before removing the LSU, mark where the v-notch is on the adjustment plate.

My mistake, the adjusting plate does not need to be removed when removing the LSU.
