    Sharp AR-M236, black lines

Sharp AR-M236, giving heavy black lines across feeding direction. (see attachment) I'm a KonicaMinolta guy and have no experience with these Sharp beauties. I suspect drum unit or HV but don't want to throw parts at random at this very old machine. Any hints, based on your experience please?

    Thanks in advance.

clean it good...check the cleaning blade... sure looks like it could be a bad drum... check the fuser as well...

Judging from your washed out image , I would suspect the copier is well beyond its 75k PM. I would look at the drum unit for wear spots along the edges, chances are that is where your black lines are coming from. Check your counts in Simulation 22-6, that count is based off of the last time they were changed, hopefully, the last tech changed the drum and developer when they cleared the counts. I would start with a good cleaning, paying attention to charge corona unit and transfer roller unit on right jam door, clean all contact points, then a drum, cleaning blade and developer change, if needed.

It's at lest the drum, and probably a lot more. The last time I quoted a full PM it came in around $600 US. That going to be a hard sell on a very old copier. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

These old machines are my bread and butter right now. We actually have some that are still on a service contract.

Can't tell everything from looking at one copy. The machine is going to be a mess on the inside.
Looks like it needs new Developer, drum, charge unit and fuser.

Quote for a PM and a fusing unit.
