    SHARP MX5001 HDD Format?

We're a Toshiba/Lanier dealership that picked up 2 Sharp copiers to return to the leasing company. Someone at the top told the customer we could wipe the Hard drives before returning the machines. The machines have to be able to pass paper when they get picked up. Based on previous experience with Canon copiers we almost rendered the copier dead by formatting the hard drive, and wiping the firmware, I had to wheel and deal to get the firmware to reload into the machine.

Can someone please answer if we are able to format the hard drives on these machines without having to reload firmware, or downing the copier, and if there's a service mode for doing a hard drive format?

    Thanks in advance

Use sim 62 sub 10 (I think) which formats HDD except for system area.

            Don't do 24-01!

It sucks balls when you purchase a machine and you don't see the trouble codes history.
I can not tell you how many tech DO NOT use a service log.

At least with the history you can see jam patterns, any consistent trouble code patterns. Which allows me to refurbish the machine more efficiently!

            So skip 24-01.

              I agree with JLSam. Skip sim 24-1, 24-2, 24-3.
