    [CQ] Sharp MX-2600N

    Any help would be appreciated.

I have a customer in the screen printing business that has one of these copiers. He only prints in black on tracing paper. i need a way of making the image more solid on black. i have changed developer and black drum and MX-310MK for the black drum unit. to the normal person this would be great but he wants it more crisp.

I haven't worked on Sharp equipment since the analog days, and even then only on the smaller machines. So please take this for what it is worth.
Still, tracing paper isn't plain paper. Check to make sure that type of paper is part of the manufacturer's spec sheet in the manual.
If it isn't, that paper may still work, but things get kind of dodgy then. I tend to experiment with the user facing paper type settings first when I am forced to deal with that. Sometimes it works, other times unrecommended paper is just something that won't work.

According to Sharp 2600 specs printing on tracing paper is not supported. Most likely printouts look sort of dull just because paper printouts have much better contrast

Thanks for your help. i know the paper is not supported but i have another machine exactly that prints the paper fine. Do you know of anything besides drum and developer to make a solid black print.

You could try to change the settings in 46-19.

Have you tried using paper from the machine that works in this machine?

I would use the bypass tray and run through every paper type you can. I have a customer that runs carbon less carbons and somehow it works. We set it for envelopes.

If your image doesn't look good on plain paper i would be thinking its a transfer belt or ptc. First thing i would do is make the black exposure for printing darker in the settings.

Thinking about this more, have him print in color. Process black will be sharper and darker. Be sure to do a full calibration, and clean the slit glass, and the glass on the LSU.
